| Details | Shattered was formed in the late summer of 1999. They recorded their first mini cd ‘From The Heart' in three days at Dé Studio in Asse (Belgium) in January 2001. The cd was released on the small Dutch label Buttkick Records. This cd shows the first steps of a band with a musical style not heard very much in the ‘European hardcore scene'. Songs that mix straight up hardcore and lots of groove in the vein of old Biohazard and Madball. The band received good reviews, with most critics praising the band for its variety and own style.
The band went on to play shows with the likes of No Turning Back, NJ Bloodline, Backfire!, Ignite, Born From Pain and many more. In May 2002 the band returned to Dé Studio in Asse with four new songs. Recorded in only two days, these songs show the distinctive style of Shattered even better. The tracks are more hardcore and show a progression in songwriting. The songs are released as an EP by German DIY label Filled With Hate Records.
With their strongest line-up yet, Shattered entered Dé Studio once again in January 2004 for their first full-length record featuring 12 tracks. The result of five days recording and mixing with Dirk Miers in his new studio is great. The cd is titled ‘Catastrophe in me', features guest vocals by Jorge Rosado (Rag Men) and will be released by U Scream Records in June 2004…
